Firstly, they are much more durable and stable, this allows you the option of a longer lamp as it will be less likely to break and remain more stable during the transit period. It also means that you can have more power because of the dual filament design, this opens up the possibilities in relations to the applications it can be used for. Another key factor is the flexibility the two tubes gives you in relation to filament design, you can have different wattages in each tube to give the best performance possible.
